KingsCountyDivershas combined the best features of all international sport divers certification programs, far exceeding those standards established by the World Recreational Scuba Training Council. Our prime objective is to provide you with the specific skills, knowledge and habits to enjoy the underwater world with total ease, comfort and safety.
We offer training in several phases:
Academic Courses: Two levels of pool and classroom lessons.
Initial Open Water Courses: Mandatory for international certification
Advanced & Specialty Courses: Wreck Diving, Night Diving, Photography, plus many others.
And Leadership Courses: Dive Control Specialist, Tour Guide and Instructor.
Pool & Classroom
During the academic phase, step one, we provide all necessary pool training, classroom training, and a lot of fun. Usually completed in as few a six evenings, the first are snorkeling lessons and the balance are scuba lessons. If someone needs extra time, there is no additional cost. We guarantee the training. For the snorkeling lessons Kings County Divers supplies all the basic equipment including masks, snorkels and fins, only $$99. The student must supply only bathing suit and towel. (In later sessions the student will be asked to supply his/her own personal diving items such as mask, fins, etc.)
During the scuba lessons we supply all of the necessary scuba equipment including air tanks, high performance Scubapro regulators and stabilizing jackets. For those intending to limit their diving to tropical resorts, or who wish greater competence and advanced training; Tuitions range; $99-$325.
Open Water
Upon completion of your pool & classroom training you will have the basic skills, knowledge and habits necessary to enjoy the next training phase: Open Water. These are not just "check-out" dives. Each open water course lasts an entire day during which you are in the open water learning additional skills and experiencing the joy of weightless three-dimensional control. Taught on a semiprivate basis (only four students per course), this is where ease, comfort and safety all come together.
Because we feel that you should enjoy your first diving experience and because we want ideal underwater conditions to provide a safe and meaningful training situation, we conduct our open water courses at selected diving resorts in New Jersey; Eastern Pennsylvania; Montauk, Long Island; and sometimes in New
England. Tuition averages $60.
Total Cost
The total cost of your new adventure can vary greatly with the type of diving, level of training, and quality of equipment needed to suit your requirements. Considering this, Kings County Divers offers each new student the opportunity to have a private counseling session with his/her instructor. Together you can plan the options best suited to your needs. This is a valuable service, and we provide it free of charge. Tuition deposits paid prior to the counseling session are refundable on request.
And Then . .
Upon completion of the initial open water courses you qualify for international certification. Also, you automatically become a member of our alumni club and will be a welcome participant in all our diving events, activities and trips. Now you can really begin to enjoy our sport and at the same time become a part of a unique kind of social group.

To reserve your seat in the next available course we need only a $20 deposit. The balance of $79 is not due until after you have completed your counseling session.
